The Story So Far…

Hello! Welcome to Amare Kitchen & Bar, my name is Mark Walker and I am a 30 year old chef. I have a passion for cooking good food and creating luxury food. I have worked at some of the best restaurants within the northeast of England including The Orangery at Rockliffe Hall and restaurant Forge at Middleton Lodge Estate in Richmond to name a few. I am constantly striving to be the best chef I can in all aspects. I started the business in order to pursue my ambitions to provide some of the best afternoon teas, al a cart and taster menus within the northeast.

I went to Middlesbrough College back in 2010 and studied professional cookery where I spent three years learning the foundations of cooking and it is where I found my passion for pastry and chocolate work.

My vision for Amare kitchen & bar is to make the most luxury breakfast, lunch/brunch, afternoon tea and a small affordable tasting menu experiences that will one day get us in The AA, Michelin and Good Food Guide.
